Just take us to a gay bar where we can leave all our troubles behind

Katherine, Annie, Jess, Lil & I were scheming about it, Hunter taking us to a gay bar I mean. We want to go Goodwill shopping, pick out some crazy amazing outfits, and then go partying. Katherine's doing some research tonight. Hunter was down with it...except he said that there's absolutely no way that we'll get in. Eh well. It will happen one day.

Kai doing my makeup before a show. I miss this girl.

This is for you, Emmy. I saw you blogged a bit about blue Sephora nail polish and whatdayaknow? I had some right on my bedside table. And since I knew you had missed out on seeing my gorgeous face due to your sick self, this just seemed like the perfect thing to do!
(Photo by Reinhard Prosch entitled “Banana Transport”)
So, the men’s backs are turned and I kind of want to hijack this car. Like really. Pack in a couple of friends and drive into the afternoon, just a yellow dot on the road. And if I get hungry? Simple. Grab a banana.
I am uber uber tired. Like, I could sleep for a month tired. So I'm going to do a pointless math sheet about ellipses or minor axies or something similar that hard as I try, I really can't bring myself to care about, attempt some chem problems, write a poem, perhaps eat some rice pudding, take a shower, AND GO TO BED.
Hope everyone's Tuesday was less tiring than mine!
See ya kids later,
Sylv

Early Morning Dress Up, Circus, National Treasure 2, & Savages...What A Day

Last night I went to a poetry/song reciting fest of fun where my friend, Ginger was performing a song she wrote. She was excellent, as were many of the others. After, she and our other friends, Jenny and Haley, went back to her house for a sleepover. When I got home the next morning, I had to quickly get ready to do a photoshoot with Hunter, Meg, and Kelsey. Then Hunter picked up Katie and dropped me and her off at Orem's (local diner) for lunch. We had french toast and sausage and it was thoroughly delicious (though unfortunately I forgot to take a picture.) Then Katie came back to my house for some guitar playing, singing, National Treasure 2 watching fun. At 7:40, her dad picked us up and I got dropped off at Sabrina's for a Disney movie get together with her and Lutz. It was a-see-lots-of-people day! Which is always welcome. And of course everything was documented.

At Gingah's (Morning dress-up)

On location shoot.
Hunter with a bit of my heart umbrella. Gotta love the photographer. (:

Hunter was working with Kelsey and I was taking pictures of Meg, so it was nice to get them both in a shot in the end.

Then Hunter had to start using my camera ^^

I haven't been through all of the ones he took of me yet, but it was a fun shoot to do!

Katie and I wanted a picture together but decided we both looked too not-photo-ready to take a shot of anything other than our feet.

Then to Sab's to watch...AHHH! Not a flattering angle. "He would ask me to delete this one if he were here."
Decided we looked her haircut.

Grandmother Willow!

Ahh so symbolic! Savages is one of my favorite songs.
Anywho, I have no clue why I stayed up so late doing this. I have to catch a train in approximately six hours. The city tomorrow! And believe me, you will see the results of my adventure. Good night to all!

Getting Dressed to the Lizzie McGuire Soundtrack

Annie (from Curiouser & Curiouser) and I got ready together to go see Sweet Charity, performed at our local playshop. This is what ensued:

Beware. I took too many pictures. This isn't even 1/10th of them.

Deconstructed business suit: My jacket and cami, her skirt and shoes.

NEW FAVE PIC. She IS Emmy Rossum! Annie is actually looking at an old ElleGirl of herself.

Annie's final outfit: Dress, Forever 21 (mine); Tights, TJMaxx (mine); Jacket and shoes, hers
I love swapping clothes.
P.S I love Chris.

Was a grand day. Annie and I decided we should get ready more often together. Especially if the Lizzie McGuire soundtrack(s) are involved.

A Picture A Day...

Keeps my sadness away!
Corny. I know. I can't think of anything more creative. Suggestions?
Anywho. Here we go:
March 24th: Shadow puppets on the ironing board. Evidentally not an exciting day.

March 25th: Portrait of Jackie.

March 26th: Pictures of Annie's supahcool outfit.

Friday (of a fabulous day dressing up with Annie to the Lizzie McGuire Movie Soundtrack and seeing a play) deserves its own post so one will soon ensue!

Oh Darling...

I'm in one of those moods today where I don't want to be here, but yet, I can't think of any place where I want to be. Anything I think of just doesn't seem quite right...and so it makes me feel like I'm nowhere and everywhere. It's a terribly confusing feeling. So, I decided to talk about the masters of all types of feelings: The Beatles. Basically I think you could match your mood up with one of their songs everyday.

So I know that the two opening scenes of Across the Universe are quite different--they exist to show the juxtaposition (ANNIE DIAMOND!) of the two in fact--but I somehow want to be in both. I crave for oldies school dances where people…ZOMG ACTUALLY DANCED??? But then of course, I want to party it up in London…I can practically feel the music pumping from my shoddy screen capture.

Again, same dilemma. I am in love with Lucy and Jude’s house…when she goes up the stairs with the letter to her room…ah, I just love it. But then again, I adore the back streets of London. And although I don’t have a picture, I absolutely love Sadie’s apartment. I would move there in a heartbeat. I'll admit it, I'm obsessed with all of these lovely locations; SO WHY DON'T I WANT TO BE IN ANY OF THEM TODAY? Maybe it's because I don't want to be stationary. And in these pictures, even if I could go inside one of them and roam and search and explore, I would still feel like I was frozen. Even moving around wouldn't seem to satisfy me. Ah. I wonder if anyone else ever gets these mixed up feelings.
Not such a long post today, but I'm super tired. And I'm still kind of feeling weighted down from hearing about Eileen. I don't get dying. I just can't think about it practically at the moment.
My Beatles song of the day: Eleanor Rigby

To our one and only pie lady, Eileen Blake

No, no, no, no, no. I still can't believe it. Eileen Blake, the hero of the Vineyard, the woman I would have paid bundles of money to make my wedding pie...passed away in August of 2008. And I didn't even find out until now.
It started after I read Annie's post about getting published (congratulations by the way, Annie, I can't wait to read ithe issue) I looked around http://apt.aforementionedproductions.com/ and the more I looked, the more I thought about submitting. I was reading the contributor's bios and was very intrigued by all the mentioned pie. Upon reading submission guidelines, I discovered that it was a rule to include your favorite pie in the attached email. I thought for a moment of what I would put and immediately came to an answer: Eileen Blake's blueberry peach pie. Heaven on Earth. I thought of how much I wanted to go back to Martha's Vineyard and then remembered the facebook group that had been created long ago and decided to take a look. And then, my heart gave an uncomfortable, painful thud when I saw, posted on the group's wall by another member, "I'm sorry to report that Eileen Blake died two weeks ago, August 1, 2008. I'm headed to the Vineyard in a week, and I can't believe I won't be able to have one of her delicious pies."
I couldn't believe it. I always thought she'd be there...like the big toe on your foot or a pinky on your hand. You don't really think about either that much, but you always assume they'll be there whenever you need them. I thought that our remarkable island 'pie lady' would always be there for me to stop by for a slice of apple or strawberry rhubarb. Eileen Blake loved the Vineyard and lived there for 40 years. It was in 1973 that she began her business, Eileen Blake’s Pies & Otherwise. She was 73 when she died.

I remember taking this picture when Lil, her dad, and I went to check if there was any Tollhouse cookie pie. We laughed because we could hear this man asking the same question from our car.
I hope she knows how loved and missed she was and is.
Rest in peace, Eileen Blake.

"This summer I'm going to work on my flip flop tan."

This day went on for about three years. I'm trying to think back on all that happened and I find myself thinking "wait, that was today? Wasn't that like, a week ago?" But no. It's just been one very long Monday.
Started with having to drag my butt out of bed twentyish minutes earlier than usual (doesn't seem like a lot, but believe me on 5ish hours of sleep, it's murder) to go in for math extra help. She really wasn't that informative though and I don't think I did too well on the test. Of course, it didn't exactly help when she had to proclaim in the middle of it "See Sylvia here is when all your talking in class is really going to get you!" HEY THANKS. I needed that! Oh well though. It's true. I really can't shut up in that class. She should take it as a compliment though. If I wasn't talking, I would be sleeping BECAUSE IT'S SO FREAKING BORING, so I think what I'm doing is actually quite generous.
Anyway, snuck a picture of the math workroom. I actually love all the workrooms, though the English one is my favorite. They're all complete with cubicles and teachers milling about, gossiping over students and correcting papers and tests. The lighting in the English room particularly is so warm and dim but not too dim...and honestly, I always love to see teachers being...human.
Later after an assembly on drinking and driving, I called for an impromptu photoshoot to document Jess's and Annie's fabulous outfits.
Annie from Curiouser & Curiouser, Jess from Star Season, & Emmy from Pretty Exquisite

Annie looks like a gorgeous poet actress girl from another era.

Lineth, always studiously lovely.

Bothered Annie in the cafeteria with pictures, but I like how they turned out.
The first meeting since the running club, Team Chartsy, was established! Since Lineth and I have both in the past learned/are learning sign language, I decided every meeting should be celebrated with a signed letter in the alphabet. Then, we'll get rewards when we achieve certain letters. Example, 'S'--smoothie perhaps?
